FREE tours of the Cinema!
Ever wondered what happens behind the scenes in a Cinema? Come and enjoy a guided tour of the film projection facilities at the Guildhall. Back in 2013 we converted to modern digital projection but we have kept our old 35mm film equipment in good order. Gloucester’s Retro Festival gives us the excuse to dust off the reels and go back in time with demonstrations of how film used to be shown. Starting from 10am until 3pm pop in and see demonstrations of how we laced the projector as well as looking back at the flickering porthole and enjoy a short reel of old film trailers that we managed to dig out of the archives. Tours are free and last a maximum of an hour but as space is limited please book to avoid disappointment.
Tours are on Saturday 24 August 10am, 11am, 12noon, 2pm, 3pm Please note that due to restricted areas part of the tour may not be suitable for customers with mobility issues. For more details please talk to Box Office.
